About us

Our Story — Who We Are

Apromo Trading has been operating in Sydney since 1987. Our core business is twofold:

  1. To supply high quality European Ingredients and semi – finished products to premium hotels, restaurants, patisseries, coffee shops and chocolatiers.

  2. To supply gourmet food and packaged confectionery to Australian and New Zealand department stores, quality confectionery retailers, independent grocers and delicatessens.

We are importers and distributors and operate from offices and warehouses in Sydney and Melbourne.

Our head office and main warehouse is at Rhodes in Sydney, NSW. From here we service the Sydney, ACT, regional NSW markets and interstate distributors. In 2011 the directors took the decision to establish a new branch to directly service the expanding Victorian market. A brand new warehouse was purchased in Sunshine West, its fit out customised to specifically cater to our needs, staff were hired and equipment purchased - and so Apromo Trading Victoria was born.

Both these facilities have been fitted out to our strict specifications in accordance with our safe food programmes and specific storage temperature requirements. From these premises we operate a fleet of refrigerated delivery vans.

We also have exclusive distribution through appointed wholesalers in other cities, including Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart. This network ensures we supply the entire Australian market. We import several temperature controlled containers each week, buying goods from Germany, France, Belgium, UK, Italy and other European countries. We consolidate the majority of our orders for sea shipment in Antwerp, Belgium, where we have our own warehousing at the port. We also prepare direct shipments from the UK and Italy as required.

We also arrange small airfreight shipments, mostly from Brussels airport, to maintain supply as part of our extensive service to customers. We believe this to be one of our key service strengths.

We currently purchase high quality products from over 60 manufacturers on an exclusive basis.

We cheerfully share our knowledge within our team and with our customers. This means we frequently assist customers with mastering delicate chocolate techniques. Our team includes several highly skilled chefs.

We have many years of international exposure and a wealth of experience interacting with overseas manufacturers. We enjoy a very high reputation with our Australian clients and have a deep understanding of the local market.
